Bill Cosby found guilty of sexual assault 50 years after the fact

American actor Bill Cosby was found guilty on Tuesday in California of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 1975. The complainant will receive $500,000 in damages.

A California court jury found Bill Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in 1975 when she was 16 on Tuesday (June 21).

Judy Huth, now 64, will be awarded $500,000 in damages. This civil decision puts an end to one of the last legal proceedings against the former actor, now 84, who has been accused of various sexual assaults by dozens of women.

Imprisoned in 2018 following a conviction in a different case in Pennsylvania, Bill Cosby was released in June 2021 following an annulment of his conviction for a procedural error. He did not attend the hearings, which lasted two weeks in a Santa Monica court.

Accused by sixty women

During the trial, Judy Huth claimed that the actor, who for years played the ideal father in the series "Cosby Show", had made him drink a large quantity of alcohol before taking him to the Playboy Mansion of his friend Hugh Hefner and sexually assaulting him in a bedroom of the mansion.

Bill Cosby's defenders denied any aggression on the part of their client and questioned the events recounted by the complainant, who had started by saying that the facts had taken place in 1974. No criminal proceedings have been conducted because Judy Huth turned herself in to the police after the statute of limitations had expired.

In total, about sixty women have publicly accused Bill Cosby of being a calculating sexual predator who used alcohol and sleeping pills to abuse his victims for decades. The latter has always denied, assuring that the sexual relations were consented.

At least four dead in Tulsa hospital

At least four people died on Wednesday after a man opened fire at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the southern United States. The shooter allegedly killed himself. “Officers are currently checking every room in the building for any threats,” police said earlier this evening. Although the identity of the killer has not been confirmed, it is thought to be a man between 35 and 40 years old, said Mr Brooks. The suspect was in possession of two firearms at the time of the shooting. “The shooter is dead. We believe he committed suicide,” the deputy chief added. It was while reading the news that she learned that an active shooter was at Saint Francis Hospital. “I went there to see a doctor two months ago. This hospital was one of the safest places in the world. I guess that's not the case anymore,” she blurts out. https://www.youonline.online/post/1122587_25-funny-moments-in-epl-season-2-watch-here-amazing-amp-hilarious-scenes-enjoy-it-funny-moments-in-epl-season-2-with-your-family-or-...
